Pili — Burundi Recipe Hot Sauce

Pili pili means "pepper pepper" in Swahili — and this sauce takes that seriously.

This is Mamba's family recipe from Burundi: fire-roasted habanero peppers, blended with aromatic spices and made in small batches right in our Detroit kitchen. It has real heat,  the kind that builds, but it's not a one-note scorcher. There's depth and flavor under the fire, which is why it works on basically everything.

Eggs in the morning. Chicken off the grill. Rice and beans. Fish fry. A spoonful stirred into soup. We've never found something it doesn't improve.
